Newbury & Thatcham Hockey Club, based in Henwick Lane, has appointed Media Fusion of West Mills Yard, Newbury to act as image, design and marketing consultants. “We want to present a more professional image to both local businesses and people in the community as part of our goal to raise the profile of the club,” says Nick Barrett, Club Development Manager.
The club plays in the Middlesex, Berks, Bucks and Oxon Regional Division of the South Hockey League and has always been a community based organisation with a real family spirit. By raising its profile using the skills of Media Fusion, it hopes to attract more interest and establish more partnerships with local businesses. This may include sponsorship, although this is a secondary concern.
“We also want to reinforce the appeal of hockey to families and the younger generation and are continuously looking for umpires, coaches and volunteers to assist on the non-playing side of the club. With six men's and four ladies' teams as well as a very strong junior section, membership is already strong, but if we can reach even further into our local community and give something back to it, that would be a great achievement, “ continues Nick. “ Media Fusion will help us to meet this aspiration.”
A major sponsor alongside Media Fusion of the highly successful annual Newbury Real Ale Festival that raises money for Naomi House hospices for children and young people, the hockey club has over a period of years, seen the impact that Media Fusion can have. “Media Fusion is the leading design agency and marketing consultancy in the area, so we are sure this partnership will be a great success, “ concludes Nick.
