It’s that time of year again! The annual Newbury Real Ale Festival is back and like the last 7 years, we are proud to be one of the main organisers and sponsors. Taking place on the 12th September at Northcroft Fields, 5,000 members of the public are expected to turn up throughout the course of the day (from 12pm onwards), to participate in the festivities.
The festival was set up 12 years ago by a small group of Newbury and Thatcham Hockey Club players in order to raise money for the Naomi House Charity as well as to fund the building of their new clubhouse in Henwick Playing Fields. Run by a group of volunteers, the festival has gone on to be an annual success and is now the largest single day beer festival in the South.
An entry fee of £10 on the door, or purchased online prior to the event, will get you a free glass and 3 free tokens.
The festival runs on a token system, 1 token for ale/cider/perry and 2 tokens for sparkling fruit wine. Tokens are sold as 3 for £5 or 7 for £10.
The Real Ale Festival is a great day out for the whole family. With great music entertainment from the likes of Guns 2 Roses, Noasis and Echotape, there is a wide variety of genres to suit everyone! Not only this, but an eclectic mix of fantastic food stalls will be available serving hog roasts to tacos, donuts and so much more.
In preparation for the festival, this year marks the launch of The Ale Trail. Taking place in collaboration with 12 local pubs in Newbury and Thatcham, the public is invited to collect stamps on their ‘Ale Trail Card’ (which can be collected from The Catherine Wheel in Newbury) from all the pubs by the 12th September in order to receive 3 free tokens for the festival and to be entered into a free prize draw. Simply bring your completed card to the festival entrance on the day.
As proud organisers and sponsors of the festival, Media Fusion designed and created all the marketing and promotional material for the event. Awareness of the event has been generated locally through press contact and local newspaper features. Publicity collateral included posters, brochures, invites, Ale Trail cards and banners as well as organiser and crew T-shirts and hoodies. With our love of the festival, our involvement with this event is completely volantary and we will also be making a donation to the charity.
Overall, The Real Ale Festival is a great annual occasion for friends and family to get together in aid of charity and ale!
