Objectives: Mahogany’s website was last updated in 2008. Since then the explosion of mobile devices meant that their site needed a fundamental re-fresh.
Mahogany Hair wanted to be able to showcase their work, drive customers to book and find their salons as well as being a content repository for national and international press.
In a nut shell the site needed to serve the needs of three different audiences; consumers, other hair dressing professionals and the press.
Strategy / solution: A mobile / table optimised website that used fluid, large format photography. Media Fusion built the site using WordPress, an intuitive easy to use platform. This was essential as administrative staff would be uploading content into the extranet and also updating pages on a ‘self service’ basis. We designed the site very much with the different user journeys in mind allowing the diverse users of the website (press, hair professionals or consumers) to get to where they needed to be as quickly as possible.
Results: Sales figures are commercial in confidence but anecdotally Mahogany Hair tell us that since the redesign people find the site easier to navigate and to use. From a design perspective the superlatives from press and industry types have been numerous.
